In the aftermath of unfortunate events like Maguindanao Massacre, Agusan Hostage Crisis and Jailbreak in Basilan, we are now saying that the Philippines is now a dangerous country. Even if democracy is now prevailing after the 1986 EDSA Revolution.
In these events, we seem to be in danger.
Ngayo'y tayo humaharap sa mga matitinding hamon ng mga pangyayaring di kanais-nais sa imahe ng ating pagiging malaya, delikado na ang sitwasyon ngayon. Walang pinipili ang mga idadamay. Takot na tayong malagay sa mga alanganging sitwasyon.
We shall be very careful in this time. At sana, maging ligtas tayo uli. At sana'y hindi na mauulit ito sa mga susunod na panahon.

After days, months and years of waiting, we are now excited for the official list of Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for the 2010 Phillippine Elections.
According to COMELEC, out of the 99 aspirants for this election, 8 of them were approved for the Presidential race. Here are the candidates:
- Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III (Liberal Party)
- Olongapo City councilor JC de los Reyes (Ang Kapatiran)
- former President Joseph Estrada (UNO-PMP)
- Sen. Richard Gordon (Bagumbayan)
- Sen. Jamby Madrigal (independent)
- former Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro (Lakas-Kampi-CMD)
- Bro. Eddie Villanueva (Bangon Pilipinas)
- Sen. Manny Villar (Nacionalista Party)
Also, COMELEC trimmed down its vice-presidential contenders to eight, here are the contenders:
- Sen. Mar Roxas (Liberal Party)
- Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay (UNO-PMP)
- former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Bayani Fernando (Bagumbayan)
- Sen. Loren Legarda (Nacionalista Party)
- Edu Manzano (Lakas-Kampi-CMD)
- broadcaster Jay Sonza (KBL)
- former Securities and Exchange Commission chief Perfecto Yasay (Bangon Pilipinas)
- Dominador Chipeco Jr. (Ang Kapatiran)
For the senatorial race, 58 out of the more than 100 aspirants were approved by COMELEC.
